Master’s Thesis – AI-Assisted Design of Electrical Machines (m/f/d)
FEAAM – Research Center for Electrical Drive Technology and Actuation Munich – was founded in 2006 as a result of advanced research activities in the environment of the University of the Bundeswehr Munich.
Today, we operate as an independent high-tech research and development company in the field of electrical drive systems. Our focus lies on the physics-based design, simulation, and optimization of electrical machines and actuators for demanding applications.
We develop innovative topologies, optimize electromagnetic systems, and create holistic drive concepts with a focus on efficiency, power density, dynamics, and system integration.
Your Responsibilities:
- Familiarization with the fundamentals of designing and calculating electrical machines
- Analysis of existing calculation methods and simulation approaches
- Development and application of AI models to support the design process (e.g., machine learning, neural networks)
- Comparison of results with classical calculation methods
- Documentation and evaluation of results
Your Profile:
- Degree studies in electrical engineering, mechatronics, computer science, or a comparable field
- Basic knowledge of electrical machines and artificial intelligence is an advantage
- Programming skills (e.g., Python, MATLAB)
- Independent and structured way of working
We Offer:
- An exciting and practice-oriented research topic
- Opportunity to deepen AI competencies in a technical environment
- Flexible working hours aligned with your studies
